I lol'd everyone at the office when I heard this.

So "John" plugged a digital camera in the desktop in his office and he said it died. XD

I took a look inside and it look likes one of the capaciters is seeping cement of somethin. When i turn the system on (a ShitADell) the power led comes on and three leds (A B C D) come on on the back panel in green and B is orange. Does it sound like all I need to is pull out the capaciter and soder in a new one of something "below the surface"?

do you have the documentation?
if so
the leds tell you whats wrong, so check the troubleshooting section of the users manual.

tell me the name of the computer and i could help you out a bit more.

This. And if the cap is "seeping", it's done for. You'll need to replace the capacitor and hope nothing else was damaged by it.

In my experience, people will think they can short cut repairs. Better to mention it, and be done with it. Nothing personal, just a habit I've picked up from dealing w/ many people.
