Really, there's nothing to it. Building custom systems....well, that's a bit different. But a standard computer is nothing difficult to do at all.

I just want the cheapest thing that can handle all games on the market with minimal lag. What would that qualify as?

Ummm....well, there's nothing cheap video cardwise that will handle Metro 2033. It takes GTX 470's (x3 in SLI), GTX 480's (x2 in SLI), Ati 5970, 5870's (x2 in crossfire), or 5850's (x3 Crossfired).

That much video processing power costs more than most people's prebuilt computers complete. On the other hand. Discounting that game....opens up alot of possibilities.

For the money, your best bet is an AMD 955 Black Edition cpu, a good motherboard from Msi, Asus or Gigabyte. 4Gb of DDR3 ram, an nVidia GTX 460 or 465. Or alternately, an Ati 5770 or 5850 vid card. And a rather stout psu if your running the nVidia card, the Ati's are more efficent powerwise.

You could go w/ an Intel Core I5....but the AMD will best it in gaming for alot less money after you factor in the motherboard.

This is the first computer i built a few months ago,, its not hard at all,, and if you read the instructions with each part it would be simple, i cant remember everything i put in but here is the list.

I bought parts along the way before the major rebuild, so all it was about 1500 aus
I have between 50-60 fps on battlefield bad company 2

Nice rig Gumby I've got a GTX 250 I used to use for PhysiX only. But I swapped to a mATX form factor board and while my new micro board has 2 pci-e slots....the weight of my gpu cooler needs a little extra support so as not to warp the card.

On the other hand, I'm building a custom tech station that will be it's home w/ vertical orientation of the cards. So I'll be going back to dual cards soon.

Oh god. Complicated are this. Say money isn`t a problem?

Also, what after you get all the things, and I have no idea where to get the shell to put all the things in.

Nah...it's not hard at all. Mwave, NewEgg, TigerDirect....all are large e-tailers. Very reliable and much....much cheaper than you can buy parts locally.

Assembly of the parts is rather easy. Unless your doing something like mine, custom building wire harnesses, hiding the cables, and modding the case. That requires some skills. Just assembling a computer is simple, even for a reasonably intellegent 1st timer.

Well, I need the ultimate gaming PC. Four years of the same old PC designed mainly for work purposes has me quite annoyed. Gimme whatever. If a man can get it, maybe an ATI 7000 HD series or higher. A decent network card. An exceptional processor. If it can handle anything you can get, it is my PC. I don`t care how shiny it looks. As long as it can do whatever I listed above, me is want.

Mine was easy, I think all together it took about 10-15 minutes to put together +20 to figure out how to put together the heatsink I bought seperately and attach it to the motherboard
